J. BRANDON DURBIN Brandon has over 27 years of accounting and consulting experience, primarily in healthcare. Brandon has been involved in public accounting and has prepared hundreds of cost reports for hospitals and other providers. The consulting services have included non-reimbursement areas such as physician contracting and joint venture structures, physician group formation, hospital development, acquisitions and sales of hospitals, foundation structures, and many other services for community hospitals, investor owned facilities, and health systems.

MARK HAVINS Mark has over 22 years of healthcare experience. Markâexperience consists of extensive healthcare financial and operational management. He has over 9 years of experience in not-for-profit settings and over 13 years working in the for-profit arena. He has held several CFO positions over the past 12 years. These include surgical, rehab, and acute hospitals. He also has experience as a regional CFO position managing 14 rural hospitals and many clinical settings for a not-for-profit system.

G. PAUL GAFFORD Paul has over 24 years of healthcare experience, including 17 years of public audit and accounting experience. Paul has experience as a hospital controller for a 405 bed regional tertiary care facility. He has prepared numerous cost reports, both as a consultant and as an in-house reimbursement director. He has audited public, not-for-profit, and for-profit facilities, from very small rural providers to tertiary urban providers. Paul has extensive experience with the unique accounting needs of healthcare foundations and with implementing monthly financial close processes. He has directed our audit and accounting service engagements since 2002.

J. BRENT FULLER Brent has over fifteen years of experience in Medicare reimbursement for acute care hospitals, cancer hospitals, academic medical centers, and many other specialty health care providers. Prior to joining our firm, Brent was the Regional Director of Audit Field Offices in Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado for the fiscal intermediary, Trailblazer Health Enterprises. While with the intermediary Brent led many audits dealing with the issues of graduate medical education, organ transplants, and disproportionate share. Brent is a certified public accountant.

JILL VINEYARD Jill brings over 25 years of experience in Medicare to our firm, most recently serving as Senior Review Specialist in Trailblazer’s Lubbock Office. During her tenure with the Intermediary, Jill developed an extensive knowledge of the Medicare regulations and cost reporting policy. Through the years, she has worked closely with all sizes of hospitals and other healthcare facilities in the regions covered by Trailblazer. Because of her vast knowledge of the Medicare regulations, her expertise has been sought by colleagues and hospital personnel alike.
